There are some days when I don’t think you should ever contemplate dieting on. Your birthday and Christmas day for me are days when I think you should just relax and enjoy yourself without thinking about what you are eating. I am guessing that if I lived in the US then thanksgiving would also fall in to this category. Constantly thinking and worrying about your diet is just not sustainable.
I am thinking I should add today to this list as it is international chocolate day (13 September). Or at least one of them – there seem to be a few along with days like chocolate pudding day. According to Wikipedia, this one is on Milton S Hershey’s birthday.
I bought this lovely chocolate peanut butter cup at a local bakery rather than making anything. I figured if I made something then either it would turn into I make myself ill by eating way too much chocolate day or chocolate day would turn in to chocolate week. I figured a single serve was possibly a safer option.
But if you want to celebrate the day properly by making something decadently chocolatey, you could try the salted peanut butter swirl brownies I made or one of these ten other fabulous recipes I have been drooling over:
Chocolate chipotle babka with roasted cinnamon – mmm chilli and chocolate
Mocha loaf – another great flavor combination – chocolate and coffee
Salted caramel dark chocolate chip cookies – OMG check out the caramel
Dark chocolate peanut butter banana bread – carbs and sugar combo
Raspberry white chocolate cheesecake – no baking required
7 minute steamed chocolate pudding – perfect for a cold day
Chocolate orange macarons – one of my favourite snacks
Mint chocolate chip icecream – when it is too hot for pudding
Mexican hot chocolate – because chocolate is not just for eating
And of course these would be wonderful on any day of the year…
